I’ve been wanting to take Lilia down the Russian River since we moved up here, I figured at four she’s old enough now. A friend of mine was nice enough to loan us one of his clunker canoes this morning and we cruised the flows for an hour and a half from the back of Fitch Mountain to Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach. Was an awesome time, such a picturesque day out there and we didn’t see another soul. Plenty of wildlife though: egrets, herons, steelhead trout, deer, tortoises… We will definitely be back!
