Max Brown – the grandson of my old man’s best friend from high school – dropped in on us during the last two summers as part of his adventures to the United States (Immanuel Boys in the Bay Area and Happy Halloween!). His younger sister Eleanor and friend Matilda joined us over the Labor Day long weekend after they’d finished up working at summer camps on the east coast. We’d planned to take them up to Powder Haus for the weekend, but an early autumn storm rolled in last week and it was forecast to be decidedly chilly up in the Sierras. Instead we started them off with a tour of Sonoma County, starting off with a journey out to Point Reyes National Seashore to see the Tule Elk and for oysters alongside Tomales Bay.
We also ventured down to SF for the day, hitting the SCA Trail before it was too warm and enjoying lunch at our favorite chicken wing spot in Chinatown. I think Dolores Park on a sunny Sunday was a bit of an eye opener for the girls!
