Sun Before the Storm

Great to see the girls again this weekend after three weeks apart! We had some beautiful blue skies for most of their three days at Powder Haus, although the conditions on Saturday morning were the worst I’d seen since Max and I moved up to the mountains in mid-December: I think it was still above freezing when the groomers went through on Friday night and the snow must have frozen before sunrise, was like skiing on sheet ice before thing softened up. Wild Man took a few hours off on Saturday afternoon to do a few hot laps with us, was fun to see him progressing with all his grabs and tricks in the park. We made sure to introduce the girls to our Sunday evening Underground Burger at RMU, definitely didn’t disappoint…

After dropping off Max at the academy this morning Lisa and I took the opportunity to bang out a lap to the top of Lincoln before the resort opened. The wind ripping in off the desert from the east sure was chilly, but did a great job of keeping us cool on the 1500 foot climb. Today looks like the last of the sunshine for now: eight inches in the forecast for tomorrow and then on Friday it looks like snow, snow and more snow for the foreseeable future. Four feet in the forecast between Friday and Wednesday. Finally!
