After skiing in sweaters and mountain biking gloves for a week over spring break the weather turned cold again this last weekend and March delivered yet another batch of powder on the Sierras. Max was off school on Friday for easter, so he and I jetted up to the mountains for a boys day of some exceptional powder. Doesn’t get much better than boot-deep fluff on an empty mountain.
The girls braved some horrendous traffic on Friday night after school and work were done and joined us on the mountain for more boot-deep snow on Saturday. Conditions weren’t quite as ideal as the afternoon prior, but it was still a ton of fun for the four of us. My top-to-bottom run down Disney without crossing another skier’s tracks early Saturday morning is one I’ll remember for a while…
We found a new location for sled track creation behind Powder Haus and I crafted one of my better sledding creations to date. Not sure who was having more fun: the kids or the parents watching all the carnage!
Easter Bunny was indeed able to find us up in the mountains on Sunday. Such good locating devices that bunny has!
Magic in the mountains, yet another glorious time to explore nature’s beauty and it’s delights! What joy
well captured in photos and video ?
Spring skiing AND Easter, what a GREAT time.
You all have so much fun…it’s contagious! Love the sledding!
