We had a bit of an unexpected visit this weekend: my cousin Sarah was on her way to Wisconsin and then Miami for business and managed to have her ticket booked so she could spend the weekend with us. A very nice surprise for us and Lilia was quite interested in the new member of our household!
Main Street in Tiburon was closed for the Friday Nights on Main event so we all took a walk downtown in the late afternoon to partake in the festivities. The street was absolutely buzzing with people, Main was closed to traffic and all the restaurants had tables on the pavement for some summer outdoor dining. There was plenty of entertainment for the little ones and a very funny German band playing beer drinking songs in front of Waypoint Pizza.
Lisa and I had been meaning to take Lilia across the Golden Gate Bridge in her Burley chariot, we decided what better time to do it than with an out-of-town visitor. On Saturday morning I had swimming lessons with Lilia while the girls went and punished their credit cards at Corte Madera. I should mention that Lilia had her first swimming lesson pool poop, thank God for swim diapers because I would have been mortified if anyone else in the pool knew what had been going on! In fact, I didn’t even realize what she’d done until we were in the changing room after the lesson had finished! Anyway, I managed to squeeze three bikes and the Burley in the back of the truck on Saturday morning and the four of us headed out for the bridge. The clouds parted for us during the middle of the day and we scored some amazing fall weather for our trip across the Golden Gate. A great way for Sarah to see the bridge and ideal way for Tinkerbelle to take a quick afternoon nap.
It was only a quick visit for Sarah: she was off for Wisconsin early Sunday morning and then onto Miami for a conference. But great to see her all the same and fun for Lilia to meet another member of the extended family. Thanks for dropping in, Sarah!
Thanks for the photos – brought back recent memories from our trip last year. Can’t believe how quickly Lilia is growing!
Was so great to spend the weekend with you guys, I wish it could have been for longer!
Thanks for the pics. Looking forward to seeing you all again very soon!
