Happy Birthday Wild Man!

In these days of COVID, we had a rare occasion to get all dressed up: out to dinner in Healdsburg for Wild Man’s seventh birthday! It was nice to go out and celebrate the little guy, although it’ll be great when we can eat out at a restaurant without paper plates and plastic beer cups! Beggars can’t be choosers.

For his actual birthday we asked him what he’d like to do for the day given we couldn’t really have a party. “I want to go to the pump track and ride the flow trails down in Novato!” We definitely had no issues obliging that. It was a hot day down in Marin, but we arrived early after breakfast on the way and enjoyed a couple of hours hammering around the trails. Max and Lisa raced the dual slalom course, Max was whipping his mum until he supermanned into the dirt between a double-up close to the finish line. A few scrapes on his knee and a bruised ego, nothing that a few tears couldn’t fix! Crazy to think the last time we were at Stafford Lake was in 2016 when the little unit had just turned three: Stafford Lake Bike Park!

Pop Pop joined us for dinner, Max’s request was his favorite vegetarian pasta (chard with cannellini beans) and Dad’s sous vide octopus. Again, happy to oblige him on those requests! He made out like a bandit at present time, with a $50 bill from Pops John, body board from Mum and Dad, $5 from his generous sister, wetsuit from Granny Jenni and Steve, and bow and arrow from Pop Pop. What a day!

  1. Looks like a great day. Oh, and what a happy kido!
Good to see photos of everyone. My birthday was yesterday (the 10th). It was somewhat tamer. We had lunch at Salt and Stone in Kenwood on their beautiful patio

  2. What a wonderful time and excellent way to celebrate a BIRTHDAY…
