With the kids away this weekend we had a chance to do something I’d been wanting to try for years: an overnight river trip from Alexander Valley to Healdsburg. Was a ton of fun, the spot where we camped in the wilderness roughly two thirds of the way between Alexander Valley and Healdsburg was pretty magic with a huge moon, no mosquitoes, still air and even a bald eagle that came to visit.
