It was Max’s golden birthday this year (for those Down Under, golden birthdays are a classic Hallmark creation: that’s the year you turn your age on the day of month you were born [Max was born on August ninth so nine is his golden year…]). It seemed like celebrations went on for a week! Pop Pop very generously took the four cousins for a couple of rounds on the electric carts in Rohnert Park – a huge hit with all of them – as well as making Max his favorite chocolate cherry cake before Greg and the cousins were off for a family reunion in Montana.
Made to order, Lilia put together a delectable batch of vanilla cupcakes with mint sprinkle icing for Max’s actual birthday. And I treated Max, Lilia and the Munselle girls for a day of unlimited carnival rides at the Santa Rosa Fair to celebrate. We were lucky with the weather in that it wasn’t scorching hot, the kids able to make the absolute most of their wristbands by riding almost nonstop from 2PM to dark. I don’t know about the Munselle girls, but Max and Lilia were still zonked the next day even after a full night’s sleep! Happy birthday Wild Man!
Awesome day!!!
