Kirby Cove Camping

We’ve been visiting Kirby Cove ever since Lilia was a baby, when we lived in Tiburon and used to hike down there with her on one of our backs. In the cove there’s four campsites and I’d been trying to get one for years, I finally snagged one for this last weekend with the help of some of my colleagues (synchronized finger clicks at 7:00AM sharp three months ago!). Definitely ticking one off the bucket list with this adventure, so awesome to be down there under the Golden Gate with only a handful of other campers and no sounds but the occasional fog horn and the waves lapping the beach. We had a visit from Suzanne one night for drinks by the fire and hit all our favorite San Francisco spots during our stay (Fish, Burma Superstar, Bi-Rite Creamery, California Academy of Sciences, Mission-Dolores Park…). Even managed to pull Mum away from the winery for one night during the middle of the crush! Super fun weekend, I’m going to have to try to snag one of the sites again next summer.
